Wasatch Hollow Village

A non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to create an age friendly community. Founded in 2022, the village was organized and is operated by community members who share the Mission.

Adults over 55 support each other while living independently in their homes. Members engage through discussion groups, social activities, support groups, and educational programs. Members nurture new friendships and meaningful experiences while encouraging ways to contribute to the wider community.

Wasatch Hollow Village is one of 300 villages across the country which are embarking on a new way to support the population of older adults who choose to age in place and remain in their own homes as long as they wish.

The Village Movement: Aging in the Community

Villages are not-for-profit membership organizations offering comprehensive support and social engagement to seniors wanting to maintain independence. Villages are locally developed (often initiated within neighborhoods), self-governing, and self-supporting.

The word “Village” is used to represent the model because local resources and people of all ages are brought together to benefit both members and the greater community. Villages are funded through membership fees and donations, and they operate with minimal overhead and paid staff. https://www.giaging.org/issues/the-village-movement/
